Strategic Investment Positions Sam The Concrete Man for Unprecedented Growth

Sam The Concrete Man, a residential concrete services franchisor in North America, has announced a transformative partnership with Eagle Merchant Partners (Eagle), a private equity firm specializing in franchise and multi-unit businesses. Eagle has acquired a majority stake in the company, marking the start of a dynamic growth phase for the Denver-based franchise.

According to Sam The Concrete Man, this collaboration aims to expand its footprint significantly, with plans to double its franchise locations within the next year and explore service line expansions.

Scaling a Proven Model

Founded in 1989 by Sam Wilkins, Sam The Concrete Man initially focused on providing high-quality residential concrete services. These services include driveway and sidewalk repairs, patio installations, and other small concrete projects. In 2007, Todd Stewart acquired the company, transitioning to a franchise model in 2019. Since then, the brand has grown to over 80 active franchise units across 30 states and Canada, establishing a strong reputation in the U.S. residential concrete services market.

Todd Stewart, who will remain CEO and an equity holder, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating,

“We’re excited to partner with Eagle Merchant Partners to accelerate our growth. Their experience in franchising and multi-unit businesses makes them the perfect partner as we continue to scale our operations and explore new ways to serve our customers. This investment will help us take SamCo to the next level, expanding our footprint and enhancing the support we provide to our franchisees.”

Backed by Expertise

Eagle Merchant Partners brings a wealth of experience in the franchise sector, having invested in prominent brands like Chicken Salad Chick, Code Ninjas, and EnviroMaster. With over $1 billion in investments, the Atlanta-based firm is committed to fostering long-term growth and innovation.

Zack Taylor, partner at Eagle Merchant Partners, highlighted the company’s confidence in Sam The Concrete Man’s franchise model. “SamCo has developed a best-in-class franchise model in a strong end market with substantial runway for expansion,” said Taylor. “Our partnership with Todd and his team will allow us to scale SamCo’s franchise network, drive brand recognition, and explore additional services that align with the company’s core strengths.”

Positioning for National Leadership

The U.S. residential concrete services market remains highly fragmented, with no national player dominating the space. Sam The Concrete Man’s innovative franchise model, which uses a subcontractor-based service structure supported by a centralized call center, positions the brand to capitalize on this market gap. Its operational model also includes a dedicated franchise development team, lead generation systems, and estimate scheduling support, which helps support franchisees in their local market success.

This partnership empowers Sam The Concrete Man to enhance franchisee support, bolster training programs, and explore new growth opportunities, including potential service line expansions.

“Our corporate and franchise development teams are fully prepared to support our franchise owners as we enter this next phase of growth,” Stewart added.

With the resources and expertise from Eagle, Sam The Concrete Man has the potential to redefine residential concrete franchising, bringing exceptional service to more communities across North America.
