In franchising, milestones often arrive quietly. A brand crosses a round number, an announcement goes out, a graphic lands on social media, and everyone turns back to the next quarter. Yet a number like 300 is a marker on a journey, not the journey itself. Behind it sit signed agreements, opened offices, hired teams, and a long line of families who trusted someone new to walk through their front door.
FirstLight Home Care decided its milestone deserved more than a headline. As the non-medical home care brand surpassed 300 locations across the country, it launched the Best Days Tour, a cross-country trip in a FirstLight-branded RV led by President and CEO Glee McAnanly. Her mission on the road is to celebrate, thank, and listen to the franchise owners, local teams, and caregivers who made the milestone possible.
“We didn’t want to celebrate 300 locations from a conference room. We wanted to go to the people who got us here,” McAnanly said.
What a Milestone Is Really Made Of
Every one of FirstLight’s 300-plus locations is independently owned and operated, which means every location began with a local entrepreneur making a decision to build something in their own community. Each owner had to recruit caregivers, earn the confidence of families, and prove, one client at a time, that the business could deliver on its promise. Multiply that effort by 300, and a milestone starts to look less like a statistic and more like a collection of stories.
FirstLight frames it exactly that way. Behind every location, the company says, is a story of compassion, dedication, and heart: local owners and caregivers stepping up to meet a growing need where they live. Seen through that lens, a conference room celebration would miss the point, because the people who did the work are not in the conference room. They are out in neighborhoods, supporting clients and keeping families connected.
McAnanly’s view of growth reflects that same idea. “Growth is measured in more than locations. It’s measured in the relationships our franchise owners build, the caregivers they support and the families they serve.”
The Need Behind the Number
Timing gives the tour added weight. Sixty-three million Americans now provide ongoing care for a loved one, an increase of nearly 20 million over the past decade, and more families are turning to professional caregivers for support at home. For many of those families, the question is not whether they need help but who they can trust to provide it.
FirstLight positions itself as an answer to that question. The brand exists to help people have their best day, every day, with a mission of providing compassionate home care so families can have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are getting the support they need to live independently. Its clients include seniors, veterans, adults with disabilities, people living with dementia, and anyone 18 and older who needs care in the place they call home.
That range of clients explains why the people on the front lines matter so much to the brand’s story. A milestone of 300 locations represents 300 local teams answering the same call in different communities, often for families navigating one of the most emotional seasons of their lives.
Breaking Bread on the Best Days Tour
Most corporate roadshows come with a presentation. This one is built around breaking bread. Throughout the tour, McAnanly plans to visit franchise owners in their own communities, sit down with local teams, and hear firsthand about the wins, the challenges, and everything that goes into building a FirstLight business. Along the way, she will recognize milestones such as anniversaries and expansions and thank the people who have fueled the company’s growth.
The journey kicked off on Monday, October 26th, with a celebration at Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. From there, the first leg continues with visits along the East Coast this fall, with additional stops across the United States planned for 2027. FirstLight has even given the RV a nickname, the “Care-A-Van,” which suggests the tour is meant to be as warm as it is purposeful.

Images released with the announcement show McAnanly alongside FirstLight co-founders William Stewart and Bernard Markey in front of the branded RV. It is a small detail, but it signals that the brand sees this milestone as something worth showing up for together.
Momentum, Measured a Different Way
The tour also arrives during a period of significant growth for the brand. FirstLight was recently recognized by Entrepreneur, earning a place among the publication’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Franchises and Top 10 Senior Care Franchises for 2026. Plenty of brands would let rankings like those carry the celebration on their own.
FirstLight instead ties that momentum back to people. The company describes its recognition as a reflection of its network’s growth and of the franchise owners and caregivers serving families across the United States. Rather than keep the focus on the corporate office, the brand plans to share stories from franchise owners, caregivers, and clients through local media, social media, and its digital channels, offering an authentic look at the relationships that have shaped its culture.
That choice turns a single announcement into an ongoing narrative. Instead of one post marking a number, the tour creates months of local stories, each one showing what the number actually represents in a specific community.
A Different Kind of Milestone Playbook
For franchise leaders, the Best Days Tour offers a useful reminder about what milestones are for. A location count tells the industry how far a brand has come, but it rarely tells owners and caregivers how much their work mattered in getting there. Showing up in person, listening to challenges, and recognizing anniversaries says something a press release cannot.
There is also a practical value in listening. A CEO who spends time in franchise owners’ own communities hears the wins and the friction points directly from the people living them, which gives leadership a clearer picture of what it takes to build a FirstLight business today. In that sense, the tour is as much an investment in the next 300 locations as it is a celebration of the first.
As more families look for trusted care at home, FirstLight is using its milestone to point back to the people delivering that care. The RV will keep rolling into 2027, but the message is already clear: the brand’s growth belongs to the owners and caregivers helping every client have their best day, every day.
