Franchise Expo Cincinnati will bring national franchise brands, emerging concepts, and industry experts to downtown Cincinnati on October 23rd and 24th, highlighting the growing importance of the Midwest in franchise expansion.

Organized by MFV Expositions and Comexposium, the two-day event at the First Financial Center is expected to attract more than 1,500 attendees. Organizers anticipate participation from more than 80 exhibitors, representing industries ranging from restaurants and fitness to education, automotive services, and senior care. The event will also feature educational programming for prospective franchisees and business owners considering franchising their own concepts.

The Cincinnati gathering represents MFV’s only Midwest franchise expo in 2026, providing a regional meeting point for entrepreneurs exploring business ownership and franchisors seeking new development opportunities.

Ohio Emerges as a Growing Franchise Market

The decision to bring Franchise Expo Cincinnati to Ohio comes as the state gains recognition for its franchise growth potential.

According to the International Franchise Association’s 2026 Franchising Economic Outlook, Ohio ranks ninth among the ten states projected to experience the fastest franchise establishment growth this year. The state joins Michigan and Utah as new entrants to the list, with the report identifying comparative affordability, expansion potential, and opportunities for market leadership as contributing factors.

Nationally, the IFA projects that the number of franchised establishments will increase from 832,521 to approximately 845,000 in 2026, while franchise employment is expected to approach 8.9 million jobs.

Although the Southeast and Southwest remain the fastest-growing regions for franchise development, Ohio’s inclusion in the top ten reflects opportunities beyond those traditionally prominent expansion markets.

For franchisors, these regional dynamics can influence decisions about available territories, real estate costs, operating expenses, and where to concentrate franchise development efforts. For prospective owners, the market presents opportunities to evaluate both established brands entering new communities and smaller concepts seeking their first regional operators.

“We’ve had our eye on this region for some time now, noting the area’s potential for growth and expansion, the comparative affordability of its communities, and what we would best describe as significant opportunities for market leadership,” said Martin Joksimovic, president of MFV Expositions.

Established Franchise Brands Join Emerging Concepts

The exhibition floor will bring together familiar national franchise systems and newer businesses pursuing expansion.

Among the announced exhibitors are McDonald’s, Gold’s Gym, HomeVestors, Dream Vacations, and Lightbridge Academy. Restaurant and beverage concepts will also have a substantial presence, with Biggby Coffee, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Rosati’s Pizza, Cicis Pizza, and Little Caesars among the brands identified by organizers.

The variety of exhibitors reflects the range of investment models available within franchising. Prospective owners can explore businesses that require dedicated retail or restaurant locations, as well as service-based concepts with different staffing, real estate, and operating requirements.

The event will also feature an Emerging Brands Pavilion, dedicated to younger franchise systems with fewer than ten locations. The pavilion is intended to give prospective franchisees access to founders and executives of concepts still developing their national footprints.

Announced emerging exhibitors include Industrious, a fitness concept, and The Fruit Stand, a fast-casual business specializing in fruit bowls, smoothies, and oatmeal.

For prospective franchisees, comparing established and emerging systems offers an opportunity to examine differences in brand recognition, operational history, support infrastructure, territory availability, and investment requirements. A newer franchise may offer greater flexibility in market selection, while an established brand may provide a longer operating history to evaluate.

Educational Sessions Address Franchise Ownership and Expansion

Beyond the exhibition floor, Franchise Expo Cincinnati will offer workshops and seminars designed to help attendees understand the franchise business model and its financial and operational considerations.

The October 23rd program includes A to Z’s of Buying a Franchise, led by Dr. John Hayes, Titus Chair for Franchise Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University. The session will address the process of evaluating and purchasing a franchise.

A separate Franchising Your Business session will focus on entrepreneurs interested in expanding an existing business through franchising.

These educational offerings are an important component of the event, particularly for first-time buyers who may be unfamiliar with franchise disclosure documents, initial investments, ongoing royalties, and the responsibilities associated with operating within a franchise system.

Attendees will also have access to the Business Resource Center, which brings together suppliers and professional service providers supporting franchise development and operations.

MFV will additionally feature Franchise Expo Unplugged, a podcast initiative produced in partnership with Social Geek Radio, with interviews and conversations recorded around the Cincinnati event.

Face-to-Face Connections Remain Part of Franchise Development

Although digital marketing, online franchise directories, and virtual discovery meetings have expanded how franchisors connect with prospective owners, in-person exhibitions continue to provide a setting for direct conversations. Events such as Franchise Expo Cincinnati allow attendees to speak with multiple franchise development teams over a two-day period, compare business models, and gather information before deciding which opportunities warrant further consideration.

For franchisors, the event also provides a platform to introduce their concepts to regional prospects and develop relationships with entrepreneurs who may not have previously considered their brands. The exhibition is one step in a longer evaluation process. Prospective franchisees still need to review disclosure documents, assess investment requirements, speak with existing operators, and conduct independent due diligence before making an ownership decision.

Cincinnati Joins MFV’s 2026 National Expo Schedule

Franchise Expo Cincinnati follows MFV’s earlier 2026 events, including the International Franchise Expo in New York City in May and Franchise Expo Dallas in September.

The organizer’s final scheduled domestic event of the year, Franchise Expo West, will take place in Glendale, Arizona, on November 13th and 14th.

Franchise Expo Cincinnati will take place at the First Financial Center in downtown Cincinnati on Friday, October 23rd, and Saturday, October 24th. Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

Registration and additional event information are available through the official Franchise Expo Cincinnati website. Explore who will be there and plan which booths you will stop by. Happy franchise exploring.
