Taco John’s® is strengthening its leadership bench with the appointment of Ian Poole as Vice President of Development, a move aimed at accelerating franchise growth and enhancing operational support across the system.

Poole brings nearly 20 years of franchise development and restaurant leadership experience to the Mexican quick-service brand. Prior to joining Taco John’s, he served as Vice President of Development for Subway, described in a recent press release as overseeing franchise sales, real estate, construction, leasing, and operations for more than 22,000 North American locations. He has also contributed to the growth of brands, including Dunkin’ and Planet Fitness.

In his new role, Poole will focus on expanding Taco John’s footprint while improving franchisee onboarding, real estate strategy, and construction processes.

“Taco John’s has built a strong foundation with a clear commitment to franchisee support, and I’m eager to help accelerate the brand’s expansion momentum,” said Poole.

Poole also brings firsthand franchise ownership experience through his work with Burger King, Popeyes, and Arby’s under Ambrosia QSR, giving him a unique perspective on franchise operations and long-term growth.

Heather Neary, President and CEO of Taco John’s, called the hire a “landmark appointment” as the company continues investing in development systems and franchisee support initiatives.

The leadership addition reflects Taco John’s ongoing focus on strategic growth and franchise development as the brand builds on recent operational investments.
