Little Caesars and PepsiCo Tropical Twist

There’s something delightfully American about the way a hot, cheesy pizza pairs perfectly with the fizz of an ice-cold soda. It’s a duo that’s graced dinner tables, parties, and game nights for generations. And now, this beloved tradition is getting a bold new twist: Mountain Dew® Mango Rush, a tropical-citrus blend launching exclusively at Little Caesars® nationwide on May 5th, just in time to kick off summer.

The new drink, developed in collaboration between PepsiCo and Little Caesars, marries Mountain Dew’s signature citrus zing with a bold mango flavor. The goal is to deliver a flavor-forward experience tailored for pizza lovers who crave something refreshingly adventurous. And it’s not just a fleeting gimmick, this follows the wildly successful limited-time releases of Pepsi® Pineapple, which returned 2024 after making waves in 2023.

“We’re excited to team up with Mountain Dew for the first time, especially given the success of Pepsi Pineapple and past flavor exclusives,” said Greg Hamilton, Chief Marketing Officer at Little Caesars. “Little Caesars customers seek out flavors to complement our fan-favorite offerings – which is why Mountain Dew Mango Rush is such a great fit.”

Pizza and Soda: A Tasty American Tradition

From college dorms to family movie nights, the pizza-and-soda combo has become a cultural staple. It’s a classic pairing that feels as natural as peanut butter and jelly. The origin of this iconic duo is rooted in post-World War II American dining. During this period, casual, quick-service pizza joints gained popularity. Alongside them, soft drink giants capitalized on the growing pizza craze by becoming the beverage of choice for greasy, cheesy slices.

By the 1980s, the combo had become so ingrained that pizza chains and soda brands often formed exclusive partnerships. This trend remains prevalent today. Now, the Mountain Dew Mango Rush release marks a refreshing evolution of that history, infusing nostalgia with novelty.

“One thing Mountain Dew and Little Caesars fans both share is a thirst for adventurous flavors,” said Scott Finlow, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo Away From Home. “With Mountain Dew Mango Rush, our goal was to collaborate with Little Caesars to create a new, refreshing beverage that pizza and Dew enthusiasts will love.”

And they’re doing it in style. The Mango Rush will be sold in collectible 16-ounce cans, adorned with a limited-edition co-branded design. But act fast, these tropical treasures will only be available while supplies last.

Big Flavor, Big Brand Legacy

Founded in 1959, Little Caesars has grown from a single family-owned restaurant in Detroit to the third-largest pizza chain in the world. Featuring locations in all 50 U.S. states and 29 countries and territories. Known for its signature HOT-N-READY® pizzas, Crazy Bread®, and tech-savvy innovations like the Pizza Portal® pickup station, the brand has built a reputation for value and convenience.

Now, with Mountain Dew Mango Rush, Little Caesars continues its trend of offering unique experiences to fans. Done not just through food, but through flavor-driven partnerships that highlight America’s ongoing love affair with pizza and soda.
