Golden Corral has named Trona Balkissoon Chief Financial Officer (CFO), elevating a seasoned finance executive with deep foodservice and retail experience as the brand focuses on long-term growth and stronger system performance.
Balkissoon succeeds retiring CFO Jim Laverty and will oversee the company’s financial strategy across its corporate and franchise operations. Golden Corral, known as one of America’s leading buffet chain, said her leadership will help improve results, support decision-making, and strengthen the overall health of the system as the brand continues to evolve in a competitive restaurant landscape.
Trona joined Golden Corral in April 2025 as Senior Vice President of finance after a more than 25-year career with Nestlé. Most recently, she served as CFO of Nestlé’s out-of-home division, managing operations across the United States and Puerto Rico. Since arriving at Golden Corral, she has built a reputation for pairing financial discipline with team development.
“Trona’s impact has been clear from the moment she joined our team, and this next step reflects her exceptional leadership and the trust she’s earned across the organization,” CEO Lance Trenary said.
Beyond her corporate role, Balkissoon remains active in industry leadership, serving with the Women’s Foodservice Forum and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Her appointment signals Golden Corral’s continued investment in leadership, franchisee support, and consistent guest experience.
