SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service marked a significant milestone in its commitment to community support by donating $50,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The funds were raised during October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During this month, a portion of every oil change was dedicated to supporting breast cancer initiatives.

This heartfelt effort was sparked by Linna Alcoser, a SpeeDee franchise owner in Metairie, Louisiana. After facing stage three breast cancer herself, Alcoser turned her experience into action, inspiring a nationwide fundraising drive. Franchisees across the country joined forces to help advance NBCF’s mission of providing education, early detection resources, and support for individuals and families impacted by breast cancer.

A Community-Driven Effort to Combat Breast Cancer

Breast cancer continues to be a critical health issue in the U.S. The American Cancer Society estimates that over 310,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed this year, with approximately 42,250 fatalities. These sobering statistics underline the importance of early detection and widespread education—goals that NBCF works tirelessly to achieve with the support of donors like SpeeDee Oil Change.

“Supporting our communities is at the heart of what we do, and we’re grateful for the chance to contribute to the fight against breast cancer,” said Scott Accardo, Vice President of Operations at SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service. “This donation reflects the collective commitment of our team and customers to make a meaningful impact for individuals and families impacted by this disease.”

The campaign culminated in a check presentation ceremony on December 10th at SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service’s Dallas location. Representatives from NBCF joined the event to accept the donation and celebrate the collective efforts of franchisees and customers.

A Shared Commitment to Making a Difference

Michelle Romanczukiewicz, Strategic Partnerships Coordinator at NBCF, expressed her gratitude for the donation:

“This contribution empowers us to continue making a lasting impact, providing vital resources to those in need. Their support is crucial in helping us carry out our mission and create positive change nationwide.”

SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service continues to demonstrate its franchise heart and dedication to philanthropy. They do this by leveraging its national footprint to drive awareness and funding for causes that resonate deeply with its franchisees, customers, and communities.
