Zoom Room has appointed Darris Cooper as Director of Training and Socialization, adding a nationally recognized canine behavior expert to its leadership team as the indoor dog training gym franchise expands its science-based training platform.
Cooper brings more than 15 years of pet industry experience, including leadership roles at Petco and Best Friends Pet Care. He has helped grow national training programs, advance evidence-based care standards, and support the industry’s move away from aversive training methods, including work tied to the removal of shock collars from training environments.
In his new role, Cooper will guide Zoom Room’s proprietary program development, support trainers across the franchise system, and further define the brand’s socialization methodology. His approach aligns with Zoom Room’s relationship-driven model, centered on training the people who love their dogs.
Cooper is also known for his work as a judge on ABC’s The American Rescue Dog Show and collaborations with organizations including the IAABC Foundation and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.
