Vicious Biscuit, Friendly Staff, Amazing Food

One of my favorite places to visit is Charleston South Carolina and spending a day in each unique area. From the city market in downtown Charleston to the Folly Beach area and then heading over the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge into Mount Pleasant, SC.

    Vicious Biscuit – The Food

On every visit to the greater Charleston area there was always one must stop; Vicious Biscuit. It starts with a line at the door, not to long just a few minutes. But, its welcomed because it’s this period of time that you get to browse the menu as you fumble on what to get because everything is so good! Now I am gluten free so I cannot comment on all the menu items. However, when I look back I always think what is so outstanding here that is hard to find this good back home. One is obviously the biscuits. They make the best gluten free biscuit I have ever tasted. Two, its the grits. Not all grits are created equal my friends. Vicious Biscuit has a magic formula where even if you don’t traditional like grits you will love theirs. To round out a third favorite its the freshly squeezed orange juice. It is FRESH!

What makes Vicious Biscuit so great is what they can do with just a biscuit. Yes, it can be a compliment to traditional eggs and bacon. But, they make mouth watering combinations; what a non local like me and for a lack of a better term would call biscuit sandwiches. You have to see it to believe it. Check out the Mount Pleasant, SC location menu here.

Beyond the vicious biscuits, grits, and OJ

I love pulling up to the location. The architecture and branding of their restaurants are spot on. The staff always has that southern hospitality and the ambiance is relaxed, and well… predictably amazing.

So why this article and why now? Today there was a little hope planted in my heart that more Vicious Biscuits would pop up in the Northeast. Recently Viscous Biscuit opened a location in Akron, Ohio (still some states over). This though marks a significant expansion move for the Vicious Biscuit brand.

In a recent announce by George McLaughlin, CEO and co-founder of Vicous Biscuit said: “Opening our first franchise location is a milestone that sets the tone for our expansion strategy. Much hard work and planning brought us to this point. We waited until we had the right team, the right systems, and the best partners to ensure that each franchisee has the tools they need for success. Launching our Akron location marks the exciting start of our franchise rollout which will bring Vicious Biscuit’s unique dining experience, bold flavors and southern hospitality to new communities nationwide.”

Vicious Biscuit formed a partnership with Pivotal Growth Partners (PGP) who helps emerging brands to position themselves for accelerated growth. PGP’s team builds on brand’s strength’s through the development of systems, processes, people and culture to drive sustainable growth.

(Fist pump) for more Vicious Biscuit locations and more ravings fans popping up across the nation.
