As the booming pet care industry continues to break records, Scenthound, the nation’s leading dog wellness franchise, has taken another significant leap forward by promoting Josh Lyon to Chief Operating Officer. The move signals the brand’s steadfast commitment to operational excellence, franchisee success, and nationwide expansion of its unique wellness-focused grooming services.

Lyon, a seasoned franchise executive and Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), has been a key force within Scenthound for the past four years, most recently as Vice President of Operations. He brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in building and scaling membership-driven brands. His impressive resume includes pivotal roles at TITLE Boxing Club and a strategic advisory position at Franworth, where he helped emerging concepts thrive. Earlier in his career, Lyon led the launch of a new brand under Hertz’s Firefly portfolio, cementing his reputation as a master of efficient, scalable systems.

Now, as COO, Lyon is laser-focused on creating the operational clarity and structure needed to support Scenthound’s fast-growing franchise system.

From Franchisee to COO: A Leader Who Understands Both Sides

Lyon’s impact is uniquely powerful because he wears two hats: corporate leader and franchisee. This dual perspective allows him to deeply understand and empathize with franchise owners, which is critical in a growth phase. “Scenthound is growing fast, and it’s growing with a clear and compelling purpose,” Lyon said. “What excites me most is not just the pace of our expansion, but the values that drive it. I’m eager to continue this journey with a mission-driven organization that is making a meaningful difference in the lives of dogs and their families.”

His passion for dog wellness goes beyond business strategy. Lyon is an advocate for the Scenthound mission of making preventive care a standard part of dog ownership. His leadership will be instrumental in expanding the brand’s reach and educating pet parents on the importance of routine hygiene for long-term pet health.

Setting a New Standard in Pet Care

“Josh has played a key role in driving the rapid growth of our brand,” said Tim Vogel, Scenthound Co-Founder and CEO. “His operational expertise and dedication to our vision will be instrumental as we continue to set the new standard in dog wellness.”

Scenthound’s growth trajectory is nothing short of impressive. The brand recently secured a coveted spot on Entrepreneur’s 2025 Franchise 500 list and earned a place on Inc. 5000’s 2024 list of fastest-growing private companies for the fourth year in a row. It was also recognized as a finalist for the South Florida Business Journal’s Business of the Year Award for three consecutive years.

With Lyon at the operational helm, Scenthound is well-positioned to accelerate the opening of new Scenters across the country and reinforce its role as a category creator in proactive pet care.
