Taziki’s Mediterranean Café is expanding its menu with a bold new feature item, rolling out Turkish Meatballs across all locations. The limited-time dish draws direct inspiration from founder Keith Richards’ recent trip to Izmir, where he observed restaurants preparing meatballs fresh on the grill rather than simmering them in sauce. The chargrilled method preserves flavor and gives the lamb a rustic, smoky profile that sets this new item apart.
Crafted with domestically sourced lamb through Wolverine, a trusted Michigan-based partner, the Turkish Meatballs are served three ways. Guests can order the Turkish Meatball Feast with rustic tomato sauce, feta and basil for a hearty plate. Those craving something handheld can opt for the Turkish Meatball Gyro wrapped in warm pita. For a lighter choice, the Turkish Meatball Salad Topper can be added to any of Taziki’s Mediterranean-style salads.
Richards said the dish represents the best of Mediterranean comfort food, fresh and simple, while reflecting the classic diet that has been ranked No. 1 for eight consecutive years by U.S. News and World Report. Available through Jan. 25th, 2026, the offering brings a new layer of authenticity to Taziki’s, the Birmingham-born brand known for wholesome ingredients and vibrant regional flavors.
