CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. (“CKE”), the parent company of Carl’s Jr.® and Hardee’s®, has announced the appointment of Joe Guith as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

With an extensive background in franchising, restaurant management, and consumer brand expansion, Guith steps into the role with the experience to drive growth for two of the country’s beloved quick-service brands. His leadership is expected to further elevate the guest experience, strengthen franchise relationships, and expand CKE’s footprint both domestically and internationally.

A Visionary Leader with a Strong Track Record

Guith is no stranger to leading iconic food and beverage brands. Most recently, he served as CEO of Church’s Texas Chicken, where, according to a recent press release, he successfully repositioned the brand, enhanced franchisee engagement, and drove record sales and traffic growth. His leadership spanned more than 1,500 locations across 23 countries, cementing its status as a global player in the quick-service restaurant industry.

Prior to Church’s, Guith held senior leadership positions at some of the most recognizable names in the food industry, including GoTo Foods (formerly Focus Brands), McAlister’s Deli, Cinnabon, and The Coca-Cola Company. His expertise in brand transformation, operational efficiency, and franchise profitability will be instrumental in shaping the next chapter for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.

Recognizing the legacy and potential of the brands, Guith expressed his excitement about leading CKE into the future:

“I am honored to join such a respected and iconic company. Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s have a rich history of delivering craveable flavors and exceptional service, and I am eager to work with the talented team and franchisees to build on this legacy.”

    Confidence in Joe Guith’s Leadership

The appointment of Joe Guith comes at a pivotal time for CKE Restaurants, as the company continues to evolve in a fast-changing restaurant landscape. With consumer preferences shifting and digital innovation playing an increasingly critical role in the industry, strong, experienced leadership is essential. CKE’s board is confident that Guith is the right person for the job.

Sarah Spiegel, CKE board member and interim CEO, praised Guith’s expertise, noting his ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership.

“Joe brings a blend of industry expertise and visionary leadership that perfectly aligns with our goals for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. We are confident that his proven track record in brand growth and operational excellence will drive our company forward, allowing us to reach new levels of success and innovation.”

A New Era for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s

As Guith takes the helm, all eyes will be on the strategic initiatives he introduces to strengthen CKE’s market presence, enhance customer engagement, and optimize operations. His track record of success suggests that big things are ahead for Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s as they continue to serve bold, flavorful menu items to millions of guests worldwide.

With Guith’s leadership, CKE Restaurants is set to embrace new opportunities, reinforce franchisee relationships, and drive innovation, ensuring that Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s remain top contenders in the competitive quick-service landscape.
